EDDU Silver Brocéliande

Damn! I previously considered this the worst whisky I’d ever sampled, but it has truly improved for me! Either it has softened over the 2 years since it was opened, or perhaps my increasing enjoyment of different whisky styles (especially bourbon) has expanded my taste? Likely a combination of both, as I primarily drank unpeated Scotch before my initial tasting of this spirit. Now that I've developed a fondness for bourbon and peated Scotch, I can finally appreciate Eddu Silver. This is not a spirit for newcomers. It is potent, intricate, and unlike any other whisky I've encountered. To imagine I almost gifted this bottle away after my first try!

EDDU Gold 43%vol. Woody notes are very prominent: vanilla oak, cedar, cigar box. Scents of dried flowers: rose, carnation, linden, tea flower. Subtle spices: cinnamon, curry, nutmeg. Typical and smooth character of buckwheat. Great aromatic maturity. Exceptional persistence on the palate.!!!!

This buckwheat whiskey evokes memories of my Breton home. I appreciate its sweet, oily character, the metallic, blood-like tang, and the unique, robust, forest-like taste of oak from Brittany; it's genuinely unmatched.

Like many French whiskies, it's interesting due to its origin but nothing special.
