About this bottle

The second limited edition bottling in this line, Michter's US*1 Bourbon undergoes a special secondary maturation. It is placed in custom barrels made from wood air-dried for 18 months, which are lightly toasted rather than charred. While the preparation method mirrors the 2014 release, variations in environmental conditions influence the final spirit.

Remington Dorsey 5.0

This is a fantastic bourbon. Banana, vanilla, and pineapple are prominent upfront. If those are the flavors you seek in a bourbon, this is it. It's a bit pricey, though. A more affordable, though less exceptional, alternative is Old Forrester Original. I enjoy both.

Estelle Turner 4.0

Tasted at Haymarket in Louisville The aroma is vanilla, baking spices, freshly baked bread. A thicker mouthfeel. Sweet, some caramel, some cola, and leather. A lighter finish. On the medium side. It's definitely good, but I wouldn't seek it out or spend excessive money on it.

Royce Denny 3.8

Enjoying this at room temperature is pleasant. It has a full flavor and concludes with a nice oaky taste. Adding a large ice cube softens it. For an 8-year-old, I genuinely like it. (For the record, it will be difficult to rate anything above a 4).

Raul Pence 3.0

More sugary than anticipated. Quite similar to a golden brown marshmallow toasted over a fire. Not the part where it ignites and chars, but the part where it takes 10 minutes to get it perfectly browned on all sides.

Keisha Warren 4.3

The nose has notes of figs and twigs, a hint of brine, and not much sweetness. The taste includes a slight smokiness, honey, and leather. The finish features figs and a touch of brine, with a medium length and a trace of smoke.

Brendon Priest 4.0

Lovely bar at Michter's. With a 1:15 time constraint in the bar. Not certain of the vintage. Sweet caramel flavor with a hint of oak. A very mellow finish with additional oak notes.
