Mezcal Marca Negra Espadín

The aroma is dominated by sweet mesquite wood smoke, with fresh agave scents beneath, alongside ripe peaches, refreshing mint, herbal notes, and a hint of adhesive. - The palate begins with sweet agave, but is rapidly overtaken by a massive wave of rich smoky flavors that billow from your mouth. Smoked meat, charred barbecue sauce, a hint of baked apples, followed by fresh citrus zest and even more mouthwatering smoke. - The finish is all about campfire, embers, charcoal, smoke, wood, and light herbal undertones accented by a subtle sweetness.

This mezcal smells like the offspring of a retired racing tire and a can of petroleum, the low-alcohol variety. The taste... is surprisingly pleasant. It's certainly potent, and it has a lengthy palate; you can actually feel it in the back of your throat long after you've taken a sip. It coats your tonsils... and stays, just in case you forgot about it. Slightly sweet... I wouldn't call it smoky, but it's a bit briny... yet, it's good. To put it another way, if you were to give it as a present, you would gain friends.

A potent Agave Spirit from NOM-O72X, produced from 100% Espadin agave using traditional methods. It presents an aromatic beginning with hints of agave, fruits, flowers, herbs, and spices, followed by a rich development with notes of caramel and smoke, culminating in a long and balanced finish. Smoky, sweet, fruity, and salty perfection. This was my first proper taste of Mezcal, and I'm hooked. You can practically visualize the burning agave in the desert before you. This will undoubtedly be the first of many to come. Cheers!

The heat is definitely noticeable here. Otherwise, it's fruity and rather mild. Likely my least preferred Mezcal I've sampled thus far.

Quite enjoyable, I might need to acquire a bottle to fully appreciate it. All the spirits from Marcia Negra are quite commendable.
