Gianna Gonzalez 3.0

Metaxa is produced by blending aged cask-strength grape brandy with muscat wine and botanicals such as anise and rose petals. Each star denotes a year of aging. 40% ABV. The five-star expression offers honey, floral and fruit notes, with wood and an ethanol sting (compared to the 7-star). A thin, quick finish. Best enjoyed at room temperature or with ice.

Coleen Ellison 3.0

You'll always recognize Metaxa once you've tasted it. Even the least expensive version is still a great drink. Nose: grapes, sweets, a hint of nuts. Taste: sweet, grapey, the alcohol is hard to detect. Finish: short but pleasant.

Jamar Underwood 1.3

Sixth spirit tasted this evening. Approximately 4/5 of the bottle remaining. The aroma suggests cheap port. The taste resembles inexpensive perfumed water. Excessively harsh and artificial flavor. Abundant alcohol and chemical notes. It's challenging to drink!

Moises Janssen 2.5

Nose: sweet, minty, herbal. Palate: herbal with some peppery notes. Finish: weak and short, pungent notes disappear quickly, sweet and herbal notes linger a bit longer.

Scarlet Acosta 3.5

Deliciously smooth, with flavors of pear, apple, elderflower, and fresh fruit. Pleasant texture for drinking, very soft.

Lenore Bolden 3.0

Very sweet and fruity; light and easy to drink.
