Elena Iverson 4.0

Crafted with lemon rinds from Sorrento's coast, by a historic Italian family known for liqueurs. 30% ABV. Sampled straight and a bit cool. A pale, hazy yellow in my glass, leaving thick streaks. The aroma carries notes of delicate flowers and lemon, with a touch of vanilla. It coats the palate generously. The lemon taste is distinct but not sharp, complemented by sweetness. Unlike some limoncellos that are thick, overly sweet, or taste of raw sugar, this has a smoother, honey-like consistency. However, it doesn't have the sharp, bitter edge from pith or oils found in some others. It's smooth, silky, and feels like honey, with a subtle citrus oil tingle on the lengthy finish. Truly a wonderfully balanced liqueur – a "just right" experience! I compared it with Luxardo's limoncello, which appeared more transparent yellow, had less sugar, and a stronger lemon oil presence. Luxardo is still my top pick, though it's become hard to find. This might now be my second choice, surpassing Pallini and La Tramonto.
