This is my first Kirsch. I have a sour cherry tree in my yard and have been anticipating this for some time. Nose: Faint cherry, stone fruit, ethanol Palate: Oily mouthfeel. Not much cherry and a slightly unpleasant soapy taste. Finish: Medium and pleasant. The soapiness fades into a somewhat grassy flavor. Of all the Maple Leaf spirits I've tried, this is the only one I didn't care for neat. Maybe it will be better in an espresso.
