About this bottle
Espadín agaves for Los Amantes Reposado Mezcal are obtained from a group of small palenques in Oaxaca. Traditional mezcal-making techniques are employed by the brand, such as using a stone tahona for crushing the cooked agaves. This reposado expression matures for as long as 8 months in both clay pots and new American oak barrels. "The Lovers" is the English translation of Los Amantes, a name inspired by the Aztec myth of Mayahuel, the deity of the maguey plant and fertility.

Smoky tequila nose; fantastic representative of a smoky mezcal, honestly excellent—fruity, honey, smoky, and vegetal flavor; a little spicy; thin; finishes clean and vegetal celery
The aroma is more distinctly tequila-like. The palate is better, offering a lot of complexity. There's a mild smokiness and a consistent sweetness. Peppery notes linger on the tongue for a duration.
Smooth, with a profound agave flavor that isn't excessively smoky.
Smoky honey, clove, and minerals. Best by Jan 23, 2019 (meets expectations).
Tastes very much like tequila, with almost no smoke present.
