Last Mountain Private Reserve

I discovered this excellent find while visiting Saskatchewan. The initial aroma of oak and spice intrigued me, gradually becoming sweeter. Upon tasting, I found it sweet with notes of vanilla and caramel. The texture was very agreeable, coating without being heavy or slick. After a few more sips, orange and wood or wood spice emerged. The finish is warm yet short, leaving me with more orange and a slight bitterness. Perhaps its youth is evident in the finish. While this is the only bottle from this distiller I've tried, I enjoyed it and will watch this producer! (45% alcohol by volume, rated 3.5 to 4 Stars)

Amazing! I didn't anticipate this level of complexity given its age. The team at Last Mountain has put SK distilling on the map, and I'm thrilled about it. I'm very eager to see their future releases. (They've also increased the ABV to 45%, which greatly enhances this product!)
