An important meeting with Japanese clients... in a wine establishment... We discussed business for about 5-10 minutes, and the rest? We drank!! Musical accompaniment: Yo-Yo Ma's "Japanese Melodies"... a track my client played from his phone!! 😆🎶 Before you read my assessment, please understand that I'm not a Whisky connoisseur, so don't take my word for it..😅 Regarding the drink: If I were blindfolded, I'd say it was water with spoiled alcohol... again, this was a sample bottle, so I suspected a storage issue... but I couldn't stomach it..😅

About this bottle
Lambay Malt Irish Whiskey is a blended malt that incorporates double and triple-distilled Irish single malts. Initial aging occurs in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a finishing period in French oak cognac casks. The blend includes Lambay Single Malt casks aged while exposed to the sea air on Lambay Island, near Dublin. Bottled in fall 2020 at 43% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and made with volcanic water from the island's Trinity Well.

A very malty nose. Small hints of honey, dried fruit, cinnamon. Peppery and nutmeg taste. A lot of nose again and some sharp dried fruits.. Long lingering malty finish. Notes of sweet as well as spice. Malt is dominant throughout here.
Remarkably mellow, with just a whisper of warmth on the tongue but no sting going down.
Light and fruity. I liked this one.
A pleasant and easy-drinking whiskey.
A holiday fruitcake character with a touch of brine.
