An unusual aroma I can't quite identify, possibly leather? The flavor is a mix of sweet and spicy with that same peculiar, likely leather, note. Peat smoke is present but subtle; spice is the dominant characteristic. The sweetness provides balance, and there's a pleasant tingly finish, but it's not quite to my preference.

About this bottle
This whiskey is crafted from 100% Finnish-grown malted rye, which is smoked using local freshwater peat. Maturation involves a mix of barrel types: new American oak that previously held Kyrö Peat Smoke, ex-bourbon, and ex-bourbon barrels that once contained ex-Kyrö Malt (note: the proportions differ with each batch).

A distinctive and deep moss-like flavor, unlike anything tasted before. It is accompanied by sweetness and spice. This should mature very well.
It's not bad for its age; actually quite tasty within its age category. It only lacks a bit of smoothness from further aging.
