Review #309 Whiskey Tour of the World 2025 #13 Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Fruity with apple and citrus notes. Palate: Clove and oak. Finish: Medium length with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 6/10 - The aroma on this is fantastic, but everything else about it is just present. Nothing else stands out.

Malted rye is expected to be less spicy and milder than standard rye whiskey, but this spirit is quite intense. It has a lot of ethanol on the nose, and the taste still seems quite young, with fresh grain and mild oak as the primary flavors. It's interesting to try something different, but it's not the most balanced whiskey.

An unusual spirit. It has a very strong fragrance, unlike other whiskeys. There's a hint of sweet apricot and earthy notes. The taste is reminiscent of strong marmalade or a sinus-clearing eucalyptus. Black pepper and some citrus undertones are present. It's spicy and invigorating. Certainly a unique experience.

Nose: Subtle woody smoke with a pine scent, and spicy rye bread. Taste: Wonderful sweet roasted pineapple and mango, with honey on rye bread. The smoke adds a slightly savory character, reminiscent of a Hawaiian pizza. Finish: Spicy with pepper, followed by a lighter tropical fruit finish, similar to a chili jam.

The nose is pleasant, less harsh or alcoholic than some others, with a slight smell of Christmas. The palate has cherry, oak, and leather that transitions into a warm burn. The finish is smooth with a nice warming sensation. Overall, this is a fine rye I would try again.

I really enjoy this malted rye! Its rye flavor is distinct compared to North American varieties. It tastes like rye bread with marmalade. I suggest adding a small amount of water and letting it sit for a minute to allow it to breathe; it truly opens up. Well done!
