At the close of 2018, KO Distilling released a cask strength version of its Bare Knuckle straight wheat whiskey. This whiskey, which has matured for at least two years in full-size barrels, is composed of a mash bill featuring 60% wheat, 30% rye, and 10% malted barley, all sourced from Virginia. The label depicts the Irish-American prizefighter Jimmy Gardner around 1910.

Very smooth on the palate, with a great mouthfeel. The aroma offers a good amount of spice and creaminess, along with a welcome sweetness. As is common with wheat whiskeys, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, and a hint of holiday spices are noticeable on the palate. The sweetness gradually transitions to a pleasant dry astringency, with a somewhat lengthy finish.
The aroma features wheat. The texture is very smooth. Flavors include vanilla, butterscotch, and spice. It has a nice, long finish.
Unremarkable, lacking significant flavor.
