Perhaps an obvious observation, but this genuinely tastes like a more mature Eagle Rare. Very similar flavor profile with increased richness, sweetness, and interesting unusual oak notes. However, I'm not fond of standard Eagle Rare; I find it somewhat unpleasant with a dry, bitter oak and a grape flavor I dislike. While I prefer this to standard Eagle Rare (rated 2.75), I certainly wouldn't call it a favorite (rated 3.25). It's astonishing how expensive this sells for....

Nose - Abundant berries, cream, charred leather, toasted oak, subtle honey, mandarin, apricot. Highly complex and evolving. Like berry Skittles. Palate - More of that toasted tight leather. Some brighter berry and smooth vanilla (cream). A hint of smoke from the charred oak. Finish - Pleasant, warm buttered cinnamon and barrel spice.
Exceptional quality, it's as if the standard Eagle Rare 10 notes have been concentrated multiple times. Rich with a distinctive chocolate character. The front to mid-palate is predictably rich. A satisfyingly long finish.
The cost isn't justified, as nothing truly is, but it's incredibly smooth and delicious. No burn, just amazing flavor.
The taste of butterscotch and crème brûlée persists, leaving a warm sensation that stays with you.
