About this bottle

Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit & Rose debuted in May 2018 as part of a trio of releases. All begin with Ketel One Vodka, made from 100% non-GMO grain, to which a botanical recipe is added and then distilled in copper pot stills. The spirit is then infused with "naturally-extracted essences of crisp, fragrant fruits and botanicals." No artificial flavors, added sugars, or artificial sweeteners are used. This bottling is at 60 proof and contains 73 calories per 1.5 oz serving.

Without question, Ketel One has created something truly exceptional. The aroma alone is elegant and refined, evoking grapefruit. It's potent yet not overwhelming or aggressive, much like the scent of freshly squeezed grapefruits mingled with their husks. A delicate floral note complements the fruitiness perfectly. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was smelling a premium grapefruit extract or perfume, not a flavored vodka. Remarkably, the taste surpasses the aroma. It starts with a bright grapefruit zest that blossoms into the full bittersweet essence of a fresh grapefruit. It genuinely felt like biting into a juicy, ripe fruit. The rose flavors fully emerge in the aftertaste, perfectly complementing the rising fruity sweetness with just a hint of floral bitterness. The finish is a masterful, bittersweet interplay between the complex grapefruit and rose notes. It felt more akin to drinking a simple gin rather than a flavored vodka, with each botanical element serving a distinct purpose. Texturally, there's a noticeable oiliness, familiar to those who have extracted oils from citrus peels. This feels like an all-natural, meticulously crafted product, and it's one of the most stunning offerings on the market. Highly recommended.

Seeking an alternative to whiskey for a beach vacation, I decided to try this again, having enjoyed it and the Cucumber and Mint varieties before. I purchased both for a trip to Fire Island. The scent is strongly of pink grapefruit with subtle floral undertones. The floral notes are more apparent on the tongue, though the grapefruit is the dominant flavor. It has a slight citrusy bitterness, as anticipated. Despite these characteristics, I brought this and the Cucumber variety to the beach (along with some scotch) for specific reasons: The alcohol content is only 30%, and the flavor profile is perfect for warm weather. It's light, refreshing, and crisp, unlike the overly sweet, sticky flavored vodkas that are so common. For the Grapefruit and Rose vodka, I found it to be an excellent addition to margaritas. A splash of this vodka balanced the tart and sour elements of a margarita. Many of us were impressed, and throughout the week, we enjoyed margaritas with Grapefruit and Rose under the sun. It's a simple and direct product. Well done.

This vodka is reminiscent of soap. We reside with individuals who subsist on discarded food. Our collection of spirits features a compilation of the cheapest options. Nevertheless, none of us can consume this vodka. It has remained untouched on our shelf for an extended period. Not even a notorious punk figure could stomach this vodka.

Just get a bottle. This changes the game for flavored vodkas. It's genuine, pure, and invigorating. Perfect served chilled or on the rocks. A flavor powerhouse that avoids the artificial syrup taste of other flavored vodkas.

A vibrant, flavored Vodka from the Netherlands, crafted from wheat. It undergoes triple distillation in copper pot stills and is then infused with grapefruit and rose, resulting in a medium-length, tart finish. Sampled in March/August 2020.

This spirit is bright and full of grapefruit flavor, with only a subtle hint of rose. It's an excellent choice for a light summer drink on the rocks, especially if you prefer a non-GMO botanical vodka.
