It does not accurately represent the actual bottle tasted... FYI --- --- --- $14.99 for a 1.75L is a Price you can't beat Stave at!!! This is a good Robust Whiskey for the price... It comes in a plastic bottle but is Delicious! There's some ambiguity about its classification... SOME call it "Straight Bourbon Whiskey" OTHERS call it "Special Reserve Bourbon Whiskey with Natural Flavors"... I BELIEVE ALL WHISKEYS HAVE NATURAL FLAVORS... But I digress. This is Remarkably Smooth, Remarkably Robust, and Remarkably Good for this price point! As you might have guessed, a splash of water can enhance flavors and elevate your experience of the flavors, taste, and finish. This is an excellent purchase for an everyday meal! I had a friend purchase a bottle of inexpensive bourbon to make bourbon chicken. (She used my Elijah Craig last time!) Kentucky Tavern is what she found. $10 for a large bottle. I figured I might as well try it. It's surprisingly sweet on the nose and has hints of orange and vanilla on the palate. Mild spice and a little heat for the finish. Honestly not that bad. Not saying I would drink it regularly, but I wouldn't shy away from serving it at a party or using it as a mixer. And of course, making bourbon chicken too!

This serving was a complimentary offering from an Embassy Suites evening reception. This drinks like a misstep - the kind of misstep that leads to further errors... Appearance: light amber in a plastic cocktail cup Aroma: sour apple and corn sweetness, artificial vanilla and ethanol Body: light, soft Taste: ethanol, traces of oak and artificial vanilla, plastic (genuinely unsure if this is from the cup itself or the whiskey) Finish: gone before it begins This is a purpose-built ethanol delivery system that could result in negative outcomes.

Decent for the price, a good choice for an introduction or a change of pace. It's a blend, not 'straight' bourbon. Therefore, it's milder, with not much spice. It has vanilla and some chocolate, but isn't overly sweet. Easy to drink neat.

Bananas on the nose. Wow, bananas. The palate is sweet, clean, and finishes quickly. Feel free to mix it with something. However, be careful, adding too much mixer can ruin the drink by letting too much of the spirit shine through.

It's not terrible, but it's not great either. It's extremely forgettable. I would only use it as a mixer with soda because it doesn't add any dimensions to a cocktail. It would be good to keep around for a hot toddy when you catch a cold.
