Jim Beam Signature Craft Six-Row Barley Bourbon 11 Year

This might actually be my favorite Beam release. These small bottles are often overlooked at my store but are packed with flavor. This eleven-year expression highlights the barley with a rich wave of brown sugar, salted caramel, and vanilla sweetness. Mild leather, cereal, and dark malty molasses notes follow, along with prominent oak and wood spice. The finish is medium to long, featuring warming spice and brown sugar. My only complaint about this bourbon is that while the flavor is present, it's very thin, and I believe a higher proof, even by a few percent, could have improved it. Otherwise, a fantastic whiskey from Beam.

Quality spirit. The initial pour revealed a touch of ethanol on the nose, alongside some vanilla. It developed on the palate with caramel and apple notes, plus a hint of spice that lingered through the finish. The next day's pour was smoother, with more prominent baking spice and vanilla notes and less spice at the finish.

Sweet aroma with vanilla and warm baking spices, reminiscent of freshly baked bread. The texture is smooth with minimal burn. Vanilla is prominent, followed by cinnamon on the palate. The medium finish has a lingering smokiness and more vanilla. It's a straightforward yet enjoyable dram that doesn't require additions.

The aroma presents soft, classic bourbon characteristics along with some earthy notes, like mushrooms and damp earth. It's gentle on the palate, finishing with a slight acidic tang. Hints of fruit and pecan pieces are present. A good spirit for sipping. The price for this varies greatly. 10/28/18.

Aroma: Oak, caramel, a whisper of vanilla. Taste: Sweetness, nuttiness, oak, then a shift to spice with a touch of rye. Texture: Light, not watery, with a slight creaminess. Medium body. Aftertaste: Dry, oaky spice. Smooth going down without heat.

Very mellow and a great flavor profile. The barley is noticeable, giving it a distinct taste. I would certainly purchase it again.
