Jefferson's Ridiculously Small Batch Wood Experiment Collection

A truly enjoyable experience overall. I compared it to the standard Jefferson’s Reserve. #3. It possesses a touch more pecan and buttery notes than the original, and I find myself liking it more. #4. Featuring heavier tannins and a very dry finish, my preference for this over the original is diminished. #6. Notes of vanilla and butter are present, along with some additional baking spice characteristics. My preference between this and the original is about the same. #10. More vanilla and butter are detected here, accompanied by some dried apricot notes. This is my favorite of the batch, and I prefer it to the original. #12. Pleasant sweet notes and vanilla are detected. My preference for this or the original is comparable.

A very light flavor. Mild, suitable for earlier in the day, perhaps. The label claims a low, deep toast profile. I did not really detect that. The aroma and the taste are surprisingly quite different. I smelled some floral and fruit notes, but the taste was somewhat leathery to me. A rather pricey Bourbon, but I'm glad I experienced this experiment.

Only evaluating Experiment 10 (French and American oak hybrid barrel), but it is outstanding. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with butterscotch aroma and sweetness. No ethanol burn at 92 proof because the flavors are so prominent.

Third tasting. The initial flavor was a little unusual. I detect some bready notes and sweetness. There's a slight burn, but it's not particularly remarkable.

My preferred order is 3, 12, 6, 4, 10. Number 3 is simply an accessible, everyday option that doesn't require much expenditure.
