I generally don't care for most Irish whiskies, and I certainly didn't expect this dram to be so impressive. It was truly amazing, providing a wonderful tasting experience. Before I delve into details, I can confidently say: you should purchase this whiskey. Jameson Round is part of the "Deconstructed series," a project aimed at isolating and enhancing individual components of standard Jameson to create three distinct whiskies that collectively represent the Jameson "DNA." This expression is named "Round," while the others are "Lively" and "Bold," signifying the core characteristics of this distillery. Bottled at 40% ABV, it has a light gold hue. On the nose, this is a very sweet, perfumed dram. My initial whiff made me doubt my enjoyment due to a creamy vanilla note from the grain whiskies. This is followed by a pleasant chocolate flavor with infused caramel. It's quite perfumed, with red apple notes abundant. It resembles apple juice and some red fruits. After a few minutes, the aroma becomes very perfumed and floral. There's a certain oiliness. The spice on the nose is rather sweet and fresh, akin to ginger. A lovely aroma. The vanilla is very sweet. Butter notes are also present. On the palate, it's very easy to drink and approachable. Notes of yellow and red apples, very fruity and fresh. Ginger spice adds a pleasant touch. It offers the most accurate apple flavor I've encountered in a whiskey. It's incredibly easy to drink, truly ROUND. Delicious. And now... the highlight. The aftertaste: WOW, THE AFTERTASTE WAS FANTASTIC. A memorable experience. It's reminiscent of milk powder, or the residue left after pouring Froot Loops. Incredible. It's a truly unique sensation. That's the most accurate way to describe it. Overall, this was a surprising and beautiful dram. I hope the other two expressions meet my newly elevated expectations. Rated 93 out of 100. Cheers!

The top of the 2016 Jameson range (robust, spirited, well-rounded). Quite rich, zesty, and smooth. Similar to the standard Jameson blend.
