High n' Wicked Foursquare Single Grain Irish Whiskey

A rich, Irish Single Grain Whiskey created by Altamar Brands and founded by W. L. Lyons Brown, III. It is made with a mash bill of 95% French maize & 5% Malted Irish Barley, aged for at least 3 years, then finished in Foursquare barrels and bottled at 100 proof. It has an aromatic beginning of grain, wood, fruits, nuts, herbs & spices; a rich middle adds notes of rum molasses, vanilla, fig & mango puree; leading to a balanced, medium-length finish with notes of lemon custard, coconut, treacle, almond, hazelnut, nougat, clove & cinnamon. April - June / December 2024.

Day 16. This one was tricky. The initial aroma was unpleasant, almost like rubbing alcohol. After letting it sit and taking the first taste, things changed significantly. The nose offered a blend of fruits, with banana sometimes dominating, and a touch of baking spice. The flavor reflected its rum barrel aging, with tropical notes and lemon upfront. Hints of coconut and clove appeared mid-palate, leading to the finish with a subtle corn note. A truly interesting and unique Irish spirit.

It has a perfume-like scent to me, along with some very subtle fruit aromas. Upon sipping, it explodes with flavor. Coconut stands out to me, with a hint of zest. Cinnamon appears at the very end. Very smooth. No dry mouth. Loved it a lot.

Sweet tropical fruits, pineapple, and mango on the nose. A smooth and very sweet palate for the abv. Initial pineapple and coconut notes lead into a finish with butterscotch and hints of baking spices.

From Advent calendar #16. Clear pale gold body with thick legs. Aroma of spicy fruity toffee and honey. Flavor of honey, fruit, toffee, spice, and herbs. Medium body with moderately heavy warming. Scored 7/3/8/3/15, totaling 3.6

Appearance: A pale yellow, resembling white wine. Nose: Smells like rum, not harsh, and fruity. Taste: Not peppery, a little warmth going down, remarkably smooth, delicious, and quite fresh.
