Hampden Estate Pagos

The sherry aging beautifully enhances the classic Hampden funk. Enjoyed this more than a certain 29-year Appleton. Smells like: Raisins, Hazlenuts, Bananas, Coconuts, Pineapples, Figs, Plantains, Papayas, Passion Fruit, Strawberries, Luxardo Cherries, Dates, Raspberries, White Chocolate Taste: Raisins, Hazlenuts, Plums, Dark Chocolate, Pineapples, Bananas, Hogo, Raspberries, Passion Fruit, Date Syrup, Treacle, Brown Sugar, Root Beer, Honey, Sultanas, Mocha Finish: Caramel Popcorn, Raisins, Butterscotch, Fig Newtons, Honey, Raspberries, White Chocolate, Green Mangoes, Pineapples, Passion Fruit

Medium amber color. An intense, rich nose of banana peel, toasted spices, and raisins. Complex with hints of wood and malted grain. A rounded attack with plenty of spices and medicinal herbs. It has a strong alcoholic punch, almost like a bitter, but on a softer body. Incredible length and depth, definitely not for the faint of heart. A rustic, artisanal, yet interesting rum with good notes from the oloroso wood. Expensive, but worth the cost.

Full sherry rum. Very sweet and spicy with a slight plastic aroma.
