The expense is a drawback for this spirit. Its aroma is a high point, featuring a bready scent with prominent vanilla. The flavor profile could use more depth. It begins somewhat sweet and burnt with a caramel taste, but the sweetness fades rapidly, overpowered by a harsher, smoky ethanol note. The lingering finish isn't particularly memorable. At a $40 price point, it would be a decent, albeit unremarkable, occasional drink. However, at around $100, it's unacceptable. It's not bad, but it doesn't stand out.

Lovely caramel aroma and a light butterscotch color. A slight initial bite on the tongue softens into a vanilla and caramel taste. Outstanding.

The nose suggested more than the dram delivered.
