About this bottle

Glengoyne emphasizes its exceptionally slow distillation process, believing it is crucial for superior whisky production. The distillery is also recognized for consistently crafting quality whiskies with a pronounced sherry cask influence. While their standard range typically features age statements from 10 to 25 years, this Cask Strength release is their second batch of a non-age statement whisky bottled without added water. With an alcohol content of 58.9%, a robust spirit character can be anticipated.

Jewel Rojas 5.0

I have a bottle from batch 4. Upon smelling, I detect a tart, wine-like aroma, with icing sugar appearing after some time. Strong alcohol is present throughout. The taste is fiery and extremely rich. Oaky, charred, with banana and spice notes. It finishes with a tingle, but a charred banana flavor lingers on the palate for a while.

Alijah Tripp 4.5

I really enjoyed this at a tasting event. Rich, oily, with notes of maple, nuts, and some birch beer. Light cocoa and pepper. Hints of Caribbean rum and dark brown sugar. A menthol finish. Some dark red wine notes present. The finish is fantastic, both warming and enduring.

Meghan Fairchild 4.0

Excellent whisky, rated similarly to another I've tried. The aroma is packed with sherry notes, I get plums and a significant sweet sherry impact on the palate, leading to a prolonged spicy finish. 🖒

Sheri Lambert 4.0

A quality cask strength spirit, for certain. Reasonably priced and delivers a significant burst of flavor. A good amount of heat suggests fairly young spirit.

Mitzi Washburn 3.0

Prominent vanilla on the nose. The initial taste clearly reveals the high alcohol content - an ethanol flavor. Better when diluted. Might repurchase.

Sergio Snodgrass 4.0

This is a spirit that demands attention. The flavor arrives swiftly and persists with intensity. A delightful drinking experience.
