Adam Mohamed 4.3

Another Woodford Reserve Batch Proof. I can't recall ever having a subpar Batch Proof. So, naturally, spotting this jewel on the shelf at my local store for the suggested retail price, I grabbed it to try. The aroma is typical batch proof. It's fruity with a touch of dryness. Stewed cherries are prominent, accompanied by tannic, toasted wood, and caramel. Surprisingly, there's a subtle hint of bananas foster, reminiscent of Larceny. The taste is marked by spicy, tingly cinnamon. Those stewed cherries are quite apparent, contributing a tart note. Some charred wood and a bit of rye spice add complexity. The finish is spicy and dry, with rye spice characteristics emerging alongside leather, charred wood, and cinnamon. The proof becomes much more apparent on the finish, but not unpleasantly so. Another excellent Woodford Batch Proof. With each release becoming more accessible, it's a solid choice. This is high proof executed perfectly.

The expert notes are accurate. The only thing preventing it from being perfect is a brief finish.

Brody Waldrop 4.0

A solid pour, with more fruitiness than anticipated.
