Lela Dowell 3.3

I'm really unsure why I acquired this sample since I found the 18 year old to be quite poor and the 21 year old barely better than average. I must have bought them all at once, wasn't paying attention, or was simply more accepting of mediocrity. Nowadays, distilleries only get so many chances and are eliminated. This one was not at risk of breaking the mold. It had green apple, citrus, light vanilla, and a bit of spice... generally light on flavor. I let it sit for a while and added a few drops of water, which helped somewhat, but the green apple bitterness remained in the aftertaste. 3.25

Encountered at a whiskey event. Delightful, with notes of fruit and spice.
