Though light-bodied for a sipping rum, it's more savory and earthy than typical mixing rums. The nose matches the description, but on the palate, I detect heavily toasted rye bread and almost burnt sugar, followed by wood smoke and toasted nuts.

Fantastic rum for any occasion. It leans toward the sweeter profile, and the time spent aging in bourbon casks is clearly beneficial. The aroma and initial flavor are strongly reminiscent of caramel. The conclusion is exceptionally smooth. An excellent, versatile rum.
Distinctly different; not a typical rum for me, primarily bourbon characteristics like charred oak and light leather, with very subtle vanilla & caramel.
A finish that almost reminds you of raisins or molasses.
