* Gin tasting, The Oak Barrel, Sydney, November 6th, 2018. Gin #3 Nose: A woody and sweet aroma with a hint of charcoal and a pleasant earthy, mushroom-like scent. Warm, velvety pine and juniper are present with a light touch of vanilla and citrus. Palate: A gentle herbal start with a sweet vanilla flavor, counterbalanced by fresh spice. A citrus note emerges, and there is no harshness – it's very smooth with an excellent creamy texture. Finish: Medium. Initially sweet, it fades into woody, spicy tones. Most reviews highlight bright citrus in this gin, but I only detected faint traces. For me, a dominant earthy note, reminiscent of healthy decomposition or the sweet woody scent of a fallen tree in a forest, stood out on the nose. The palate echoes this with a matching woody, herbal, almost mossy taste. An excellent gin to sip neat or over ice. It works well in cocktails, but it feels like a waste to mask such a fine spirit. It's best enjoyed on its own or with tonic, where it retains its character and is clearly noticeable. “Excellent”: 88/100 (4.5 stars)

Nose: Pine needles, lemon zest, tart berries, lavender Palate: Begins with a dry, oily juniper pine note that transitions into berries, rosemary, thyme, and then bursts with citrus. Finish: Lemon cupcakes and lemonade that linger indefinitely. This is exceptional! I had this on my wish list for an extended period and regret delaying my experience with it. Avoid my mistake.
Tenth item from the advent calendar. This isn't my preferred gin; it tastes like consuming pepper.
Floral and fresh, with a smooth, juniper-forward character.
Bitter, stark taste of juniper
Loved it. Savory and yummy
