Acquired three bottles of this Daftmill 2006 summer edition, limited to 1680 bottles and exclusively for the US market. The Daftmill story is unique: the Cuthbert brothers cultivate and process their own barley, handling distillation and aging entirely on the farm. Daftmill stands as Scotland's sole distillery managing every step from start to finish in-house. Appearance: pale gold Scent: highly aromatic, with notes of pear, sweet honeysuckle, rose petals, and mint. Taste: light, sweet barley, a creamy entry, honey, a delicate texture, followed by fresh fruits; the alcohol's warmth emerges, and oak's bitterness lingers at the end. Aftertaste: of medium to long duration, the honey's sweetness persists, and the oakiness invites further sips. This is a skillfully made and well-balanced single malt from a single estate. The aroma is remarkable, and I could appreciate it constantly. The taste is subtle, fulfilling the high expectations set by the scent. Overall, this is an excellent bottle, quite scarce, and securing one at retail price is highly recommended. The anticipation is justified.

Nose: sour grapes and lemon. Faint generic floral and woodland notes. A rich malty honey begins to emerge after a while. Taste: light peat and malt develop into a light floral honey with orange and a richer toffee or caramel.
