KWV Distillery's winemakers sought to create a gin highlighting indigenous botanicals. Cruxland Gin is a double-distilled grape spirit in the London Dry style, featuring Kalahari truffles as its distinctive botanical. The gin's name was inspired by these truffles, which are locally known as N'abbas. They are recognized by experienced hunters because they tend to form a unique cross-shaped crack in the earth after rainfall, indicating their location.

Moderate juniper and a slight citrus in the base, with grape notes also seeming recognizable. The flavor is spicier than the aroma. Sipping it neat is very warming, with the faintest savory aftertaste. Adding tonic enhances the juniper and citrus notes slightly. Overall, it is rather well-balanced and enjoyable.
Pleasantly sweet, with a very strong vanilla finish. A bit harsher on the tongue compared to Bombay Sapphire, but excellent on the rocks or with a proper lemonade.
The flavor profile is interesting, but the result is disappointing. Of a group of four people, we all felt somewhat let down and ended up mixing it.
A bit too heavy on the liquorice for my liking; it's well-balanced and reasonably priced. Better alternatives can be found at this price point.
Really enjoying this, has unusual flavors. I'm making my martini with cardamom bitters and Dolin dry.
I enjoy licorice, but this was a bit too much for me.
