Crown Royal 18 Year

A delightful blended scotch. It's elegant and smooth, truly shining when served over a large ice cube. It offers notes of vanilla, which are subtly sweet without being overwhelming. The aroma is beautiful. Is it worth the cost? Well, it's expensive, but I truly believe it is. An 18-year-old blend of whiskies? Compared to The Glenlivet 18, which is a bit pricier and more to my liking, this CR 18 is quite delicious and changes my perception of their products. I picked this up for my wife; she enjoys crown and hasn't found any of my scotches appealing enough to drink straight. But this one brought a smile to her face as she enjoyed her glass on the rocks. That makes me happy, especially knowing I can sneak a glass myself occasionally. Mostly, though, I'm just glad to see her enjoying it. Alright, no more feeling bad about the price. Screw it. It's worth it to me. This one has certainly impressed me. Criticize it all you want, but I enjoy it. A good song to pair with this dram? Glad you asked! Given it's a December tasting, it comes from our friends up north (and thankfully, no mouse in the bottle this time), so I'd suggest: Hallelujah - performed by The Canadian Tenors Cheers!

Nose: Subtle and sugary. Wood, caramel. Taste: Considering the proof; not much oak, diluted. Caramel candy, tart apple. Finish: With the low proof it is a little surprising that the finish lingers. Pleasant baking spice, wood. Overall: A decent 18 year old spirit. Features the woodiness expected from its age. Has a pleasant finish.

Maple and vanilla on the aroma. Sweet on the tongue, vanilla again, with a hint of caramel. Lingering conclusion with a slight, but pleasant and warming, burn.

Extremely smooth, with a pleasant mix of sweetness and spice. It has eggnog notes, plus some maple that stays throughout the finish.

It's smooth and well-balanced, with an eggnog-like quality. I'm quite fond of it!
