Pleasant golden amber hue, leaves some lacing on the glass, with a spicy aroma. I detect a note of hay and straw with black pepper, leading to a warm finish.
Nose: caramel, rye, grass, rye, cherry, mint, vanilla. Palate is semi-sweet and semi-spicy. Tastes of vanilla, rye, and dried fruit. Short finish.
A complex, spicy palate as expected from a rye, but surprisingly smooth, reminiscent of Whistlepig.
It's syrupy and sweet with some rye spice, but it's not executed very well. Tastes a bit artificial.
Very spicy and dry, yet it still possesses a well-rounded quality.
