While sold as an economical mixing rum in the U.S., the European market features upscale, age-stated versions blended and bottled by a Swiss firm. The starting point for these premium offerings is the 12-year Cigar rum, aptly named for its suitability as a complement to fine cigars. This rum is distilled in Jamaica, matured in seasoned oak casks, and bottled at 80 proof.
