About this bottle

This extra añejo tequila derives its name from the year Mexico achieved independence from Spain. Crafted from 100% blue weber agave, the tequila is distilled at the Hacienda Corralejo in Guanajuato and matures for 36 months in small oak barrels.

This marks the highest I'm willing to spend on tequila. The presentation is attractive, as it should be at this cost. The aroma is very subtle. I detect the agave, but only at the edges with a whisper of honey. The initial taste is sweet with light sugar and almost no burn. This is a pleasant pour, but at $60 more than Avion 44, I'm rating it just below four stars. Am I unhappy with the purchase? No, but I'd advise saving your money and choosing Avion instead.

A nice oakiness initially, with hints of vanilla, hay, and very light caramel before a touch of agave herbalness, then returning to a savory, clean, and smooth flavor. The finish is short and incredibly smooth with a dash of baking spice. A solid extra añejo.

This was a gift for my wife, who loves tequila. We had it in a blind tasting today and it outperformed all the others. A truly remarkable tequila!

Incredibly smooth, with absolutely no harshness! The finest tequila I've had the pleasure of enjoying with companions.
