Coppersea Excelsior Bourbon

Dark honey in color. The nose initially suggests some immaturity from the corn. Underneath that, you'll find vanilla and caramel. The youthful character masks many other potential scents. The first taste is oak and caramel, with a touch of black pepper. Some fruit notes appear later, along with vanilla. The mouthfeel is moderately thick. The finish, however, reveals that immature corn, though less intensely than on the nose. The immaturity doesn't entirely spoil it, but it certainly detracts from an otherwise quite drinkable Bourbon. I certainly wouldn't pay the asking price for it.

A bold bourbon with notes of vanilla, burnt wood, and caramel. Its intense character offers caramel, black pepper, vanilla, and peaches, leading to a lengthy, oaky finish with grain, almond, and spice. Produced by Agnus MacDonald for Coppersea Distillery as a 100% free-range New York Whisky, aged in New York casks. Truly awful whiskey. The high scores make me question all app ratings. The aroma is heavy with cleaning products, wood, and grass. These scents carried over into the taste. We sampled twelve other whiskeys, and this was unanimously considered the absolute worst of the bunch.

Smells of dark molasses and caramel; the taste is rich and sweet with molasses and peach. The proof complements the flavors and body well. Excellent wood burn with medium to high richness. It strongly resembles Curry sark prohibition.

The aroma is dominated by spices, particularly cinnamon, with little else detectable. The taste is mildly sweet, featuring pleasant caramel and pepper notes with a lasting sweetness. It's a decent spirit, but unremarkable.

Notes of honey and caramel on the nose, with herbal, floral, and cherry aspects. Sweet overall. The palate offers floral and cherry notes. A medium finish leaves a honey coating in the mouth. A pleasant bourbon for dessert or parties. I enjoy it.
