Copper Sky Light Whiskey 16 Year

What on earth did I just taste? This is, by a considerable margin, the whiskey with the highest alcohol by volume I have ever encountered. "LIGHT WHISKEY" from Copper Sky distillery is an exceptionally potent dram, and naturally, being a purist, I consumed it neat. Bottled at 70.1% ABV (yes, you read that correctly), this is a 16-year-old American whiskey. On the nose, it begins with a rye whiskey note, white chocolate, corn, and a fresh field. Hints of fresh berries and strawberries emerge. On the palate, this is like plutonium, the fuel for the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Red fruits and cotton candy are present. It's too powerful, though not unpleasant. The aftertaste consists of only two notes: Red fruitiness and red peppers. Overall, this wasn't the worst whiskey in the world, but I anticipated numerous layers of flavor due to its high strength; however, it was quite simple, direct, and unexciting. It's not "undrinkable" despite the high ABV, but it isn't worth your time. My rating is 70 out of 100.
