Colter's Run Bourbon

I tried a sample last week while visiting Jackson Hole, contemplating between purchasing a small bottle of Wyoming Whiskey or this. I ultimately chose the Wyoming. For your information, I had that once and then misplaced it in the cabin before heading to Yellowstone. Regardless... this one is worth considering if you genuinely appreciate an oak-forward, woody flavor. It's smooth, but excessively woody for my preference. I'm uncertain if additional aging in oak would improve it; it might just intensify the woodiness. I suspect it was likely intended for use in mixed drinks.

I found this on sale. I really like it - a very pleasant, smooth flavor. It's not overpowering. I'm especially impressed considering the price.

Best enjoyed with three drops of water. I'd be interested in trying it on the rocks.
