Clyde May's 9 Year Cask Strength Straight Rye

Wow. This is truly awful. Smell - I'm not even sure what I'm detecting… It's like banana candy mixed with the smell of peanut shells at a restaurant and wintergreen bubble gum… the alcohol is also present… it's just not enjoyable. It's not pleasant. Taste - Imagine mixing a bucket of peanut shells and wintergreen toothpaste with cheap whiskey that burns. Add some rye notes, and you get this terrible product. Whoever at Clyde decided this was acceptable to bottle, promote, and charge over $60 for should be dismissed. It's an utter disgrace. I wouldn't spend $25 on it, and that's my sincere viewpoint. After tasting this, I poured myself a WT101, and my palate was delighted.

Has a more pronounced straw undertone in the scent that makes it challenging to discern the subtler elements; hopefully, it will evolve over time. The flavor is somewhat grainy with other components lurking beneath, but difficult to identify.

Interesting, this one is quite different. It's a peanut bomb with minty notes. A good barrel-proof option if you enjoy those flavors.

Completely unpalatable!
