About this bottle

For his entry-level calvados, Drouin selects apples and pears from the Domfront area, using single-column distillation (unlike the double-distillation in a pot still for his other spirits) to produce a lighter spirit that matures earlier. This young calvados is designed as an aperitif or for use in cocktails.

Joshua Garvin 4.0

Strong notes of apple and pear. Fruity, crisp, and a little bracing. Has a noticeable heat on the palate and a somewhat rustic character. This is my first Calvados, so my closest point of comparison is some higher-end bottles of Lairds.

Nathaniel Terry 3.3

The aroma is of rich apple juice. Flavors include dried fruit, crushed golden raisins, some woody notes, and pears. It has a slightly waxy texture.

Todd Lozano 2.5

It's acceptable, but you can skip it if you're not making eggnog.

Elena Kaiser 3.3

I did not like it. It was too difficult to drink.

Patience Perdue 3.5

Tastes like cider, oak, pear, with a hint of cat.

Zachariah Pace 3.3

Rough and a bit plain. Apples are present.
