Okay, this is essentially American scotch...and it's pretty good. Poured neat, the nose has malt and fruit with young wood, similar to many scotches. Hints of spice and gummy bear notes. I'd compare it to a light highland scotch, perhaps a Glengoyne. The palate brings good malt with a blast of apricot. Gentle baking spice and barrel notes complete the experience. The finish is medium-short with a fade of malty fruit/barrel. I'm not getting distinct smoke notes, more like char. Overall, it's a solid effort. The flavors have decent depth, but there's some youth to contend with. I think I would buy a bottle if the price was right (a friend gave me this 200ml)....80/100......tried the single cask as well and that was better as expected...3.25 stars

This is a single malt made from two-row barley, initially matured in small bourbon casks, then finished in various barrels to add subtle hints of peat, sherry, port, and so on; subsequently unified in a solera vat. The outcome is a highly enjoyable single malt with a pronounced bourbon cask character of vanilla and a touch of corn sweetness. It exhibits hints of honeysuckle, chocolate, aged leather, a faint trace of smoke, and of course malt—all harmonized by that strong bourbon influence. This is rather good, and could serve as a gateway for a bourbon enthusiast to transition towards traditional Scotch.
If you could capture the essence of an old, dusty barn, a syrupy single malt, and a whole lot of malty goodness in a bottle, this would be it. None of that sounds appealing, but I absolutely adore this drink. I'm still searching for a 750ml bottle.
The immediate scent is that of peat. A strong peat smell. The peat lasts through the first taste. Somewhat disappointed as I am not a scotch fan and this is really reminiscent of a weak scotch.
This is a wonderfully smooth, easy-drinking whiskey. If you're seeking peat, smoke, or an intense flavor rush, this isn't your top pick. However, for something highly enjoyable and flavorful, it's a must-have.
