This is indeed interesting. I'm not sure it warrants a 90 rating for me, but it's certainly a unique attempt that succeeds well – and this from someone highly skeptical of flavored whiskey. It's a fine rye... that happens to have honey throughout, particularly on the finish. It's amusing and quite delightful, like picking honeysuckle blossoms and tasting their ends while drinking an adult beverage. That said, consuming a full 2oz without dilution became a bit too sweet. However, I suspect that if you added a shot of this to champagne or properly made lemonade, it would be heavenly. Even an ice cube might be sufficient to balance it. I'm going to try that now, excuse me...

This has been on my shelf since before the pandemic, and I finally opened it. It's a surprisingly smooth and tasty flavored whiskey. The nose offers honey, brown sugar, dried hay, dried leaves, and subtle smoke. The palate has mellow honey and subtle sweetness, light brown sugar, and baking spices. The finish is mellow and dry, with caramel candy, very subtle honey, burnt toast, and earthy-dusty notes that evoke Lagavulin.
I've never been a fan of flavored whiskies, but THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT. It's super smooth, with a light (real honey) sweetness throughout.
In my view, not spicy enough for a rye. The honey is noticeable but perhaps dulls the flavor somewhat.
Very smooth. Pleasantly not too sweet.
Excellent in an old fashioned.
