Smell: cherry, plum, some oak and vanilla Taste: The wine influence is strong, with cherry, plum, berries, and dark fruits upfront, but it turns into a vitamin-like flavor on the finish. Overall: I think the finish clashes with the whiskey. It has great potential and starts with good flavor and richness, but quickly shifts to a very mineral-forward finish. It's like adding vitamin supplements to a wine.

This brings to mind early Angel's Envy, which was richer and sweeter. This drink certainly highlights the wine notes quite a bit. A friend really enjoyed it for this reason. It's understandable why opinions on this are so divided. It is a bit pricey, but it's a really good finished bourbon if that's what you're going for. Best enjoyed as a dessert or after-dinner bourbon.

Tasted of chocolate-covered cherries with a hint of tobacco. I personally liked the wine finish, which is more noticeable as it warms up. It's enjoyable as a dessert drink after dinner. Also, it's much easier to find than others, which adds value in my view.

The color is a deep red, and the wine finish is evident. If you've tried the Prisoner, you'll recognize the aroma. Dark fruit, oak, and chocolate are prominent. On the palate, there's spice, cherry, chocolate, and oak. The finish is the highlight, tasting like wine as it goes down.

Drinking this takes you right to the aging warehouse. It tastes much older than its actual age, with a fantastic balance of robust flavor and oak char, but not too much. Excellent for pairing with dessert. The primary flavors are oak, leather, and fruit (grapes, rich cherries).

Sampled this at the distillery as part of a tasting. Frankly, it was my least preferred of the tasting, even over the fusion. Very ordinary, with comparable or better spirits available for less than half the price. The wine cask finish didn't really contribute much for me.
