Although the visual representation of Captain Morgan has evolved, the brand is named after the historical figure Sir Henry Morgan, a prosperous Caribbean privateer (a pirate who allegedly plundered for the benefit of the populace). Tattoo is a richer blend of rum enhanced with extra spices and flavorings. It is specifically intended for consumption in shots and mixed drinks.

Based on a review, one might think this rum is excellent with Dr. Pepper. Since I exclusively use Dr. Pepper instead of Coke for my drinks at home, I must disagree. It has an overwhelming "grape drink" essence that I find unpleasant. It's also very sweet, but artificially so, leaving a peculiar fake sugar aftertaste.
