Canadian Hunter Blended Canadian Whisky

Appearance: This Canadian blend has a khaki or dark gold hue. Its legs are thin and extremely viscous, clinging to the glass. Nose: The aroma begins pleasantly but then reveals its true nature, ultimately being unremarkable. Initial notes are honey and floral, followed by caramel, nail polish remover, and car exhaust. The scent then fades, making further detection difficult, which might be for the best. Taste: To put it simply, it's very smooth. There's no harshness (a point often emphasized in their past advertising). Flavors include caramel candy, a mix of herbs and green grapes, finishing with a bitter note. Finish: A medium-length finish with no burn, leaving a grain spirit aftertaste. Thoughts: I believe this whisky would be improved by a higher proof, making it more engaging. However, there are certainly better options available. It's among the more affordable Canadian whiskies, but I'd spend a bit more for superior quality. For the most part, it's inoffensive but dull. Continuing my journey through the cheap stuff. Picked up the large bottle on sale at a state store for a decent price. The aroma was all ethanol, which gave way to a surprising sweetness on the tongue. It was reminiscent of a Pecan Twirl, but with a slight alcohol sting. It wasn't bad, but not good enough to swap out my usual daily drinker. After letting it breathe for a couple of days, the pecan flavor became more pronounced and oily. I even added a touch of water, which I rarely do, and it muted the pecan notes while amplifying the sweetness. I don't hate it enough to dump it, but I'm eager to finish the bottle.

A pleasant smell and beautiful color, but one should remember it's a blend of whiskey with added artificial flavorings! Upon first tasting, it's sweet on the lips, then becomes earthy before a woody taste hits during the swallow, which takes some getting used to! It also works satisfactorily as an inexpensive mixer without overwhelming the cocktail.

Unimpressive. It's like an extremely diluted Crown Royal. The smell is very alcoholic, with no distinct flavors. It's barely perceptible in various cocktails, merely adding a disappointing boozy note. However, it is smooth, with a mild sweetness and vanilla flavor.

Appearance: Clear, light gold with fairly even alcohol legs. Nose: faint nut oil and sweet corn. Taste: sweet corn, oak, pecan oil, cane sugar, and honey. Body: light to medium. Finish: moderate. Reviewer: RJT

The finest Canadian whiskey I've encountered. A subtle tickle on the nose with vanilla and caramel, then a refreshing hint of mint as it fades. A perfect score, I'd never choose another alcoholic beverage.
