By the Dutch honors the Netherlands' heritage in traditional spirits, a country recognized for its advanced distillation practices since the 17th century. Founded in 2015, By the Dutch produces authentic interpretations of historical Dutch beverages like Genever and Batavia Arrack. Their Genever is made using a blend of pot and column distillation techniques on a base of rye, corn, and malted barley. This grain base is combined with distillates of juniper and other botanicals traditionally associated with gin. Oak aging imparts an additional layer of flavor and a light golden hue.

A mellow and malty scent with whispers of fruit and licorice. It's very approachable on the palate and lingers without being overpowering. This is a layered spirit with fantastic harmony. I really enjoy it. It also makes a great mixer with ginger beer in a 2:1 ratio.
