Embarking on this journey... This isn't what I anticipated. The aroma lacked any resemblance to Tequila; the distinct agave notes were absent, perhaps some fruity elements were present? The agave notes appeared on the palate but were very subtle. Surprisingly, the flavors on the palate weren't unpleasant, but they weren't the traditional agave/tequila characteristics. I believe a friend's assessment was accurate; perhaps this is a blended tequila, and at an average price of $35, it could be worthwhile. I typically drink my spirits neat or with a splash of water, so this one didn't offer the traditional tequila notes I sought when trying it neat.

If you're expecting classic tequila flavors from this, you'll be let down. However, if you want a tequila-based spirit for cocktails that changes colors, you'll be pleased. I first tried it neat with a bit of ice. It was slightly sweet with orange and vanilla notes. While not unpleasant, I had fun experimenting with it in cocktails. Their website offers several cocktail recipes. My rating reflects its flavor and cocktail potential, not my expectation of it being a premium tequila.
