Madyson Bertrand 3.5

Aroma: Tropical fruit, citrus, mint, and buttery caramel. Palate: Begins sweet with tropical fruits and a green vegetable undertone, possessing a creamy, silky, yet crisp texture. Finish: Medium in length, with fruity and mildly smoky notes and a lingering sweetness. This is a brief review of a mescal tasted at a local shop's pop-up. It's one of two core offerings from Burrito Fiestro, labeled "Cenizo" and made from 100% wild Agave Durangensis (cenizo) aged 12 years. It's quite enjoyable, less spicy and more sweetly floral than its sibling "Ensamble." Both are good mescals offering fair value, though not top-tier. They offer distinct but equally pleasing profiles. Rating: 83/100 (3.5 stars).
