About this bottle
Released in 2010, this was one of two bottlings in the eighth batch of Buffalo Trace's Experimental Collection, which focused on variations in oak treatment. This whiskey was produced using BT Rye Mash #2, distilled and barreled in April 1995. At the outset of the aging period, toasted American oak chips were introduced into the used, charred white oak barrel to enhance spirit contact with the wood. After fifteen years and four months, and a significant 54.2% evaporation, the barrel was emptied in August 2010 and bottled at 45% ABV.
