About this bottle

Introduced in 2011, this is one of three whiskeys in the tenth batch of Buffalo Trace's Experimental Collection, themed around "rediscovered barrels." The whiskey originates from eight barrels discovered in overlooked areas of Warehouses C, Q, and I. Distilled in October 1991 from an unspecified bourbon mash bill, with unknown distillation and barrel entry proofs (leading to its classification as "whiskey" rather than "bourbon"), it aged for nineteen years and one month in new charred oak. By the time of discovery, 62.1% of the contents had evaporated. The barrels were emptied in December 2010 and bottled at 45% ABV.
