Produced in Pennsylvania at a facility with LEED certification, Big Spring Spirits American Blended Whiskey is made from 65.25% corn, 34% wheat, and 0.75% rye. This precise grain recipe, provided by the Master Distiller, results in a spirit that is not technically a bourbon because the grains are fermented, distilled, and aged independently before the final blend. Each component was matured in 53-gallon American oak barrels. It was released in November 2016 and is presented at 53.85% ABV, with Batch 2016-97 selected for evaluation.

A musky and youthful aroma. Hints of maple syrup sap on the nose, along with corn and whole wheat bread. The alcohol isn't overwhelming on the palate, but it primarily tastes of creamed corn. I'd love to visit this distillery; this was a pleasant surprise.
This immediately jumped to the top of my list for an after-dinner drink. It's got a kick and a sweetness, and even my wife, who usually sticks to rum drinks, enjoys it chilled. You can taste the corn underneath the rye's spice. A truly pleasurable whiskey!
A faint smell and taste of agave, possibly due to the high alcohol level. I preferred it without water. The alcohol content was noticeable but not overwhelming.
