This scotch surpasses the typical 10-12 year Highland malts, which I find blend together. Its aroma presents a full country breakfast: apple, malt, jasmine, honey, and vanilla. The palate offers sweet pomegranate and apple, along with some wheat beer and cereal grain notes. The finish is sweet, with hints of smoke or rubber, as if a trace of peat is drying the malt. It's not deeply complex, primarily sweet, much like a standard "session" scotch. Nevertheless, it ranks well above Glenmorangie Original and similar whiskies in its category.

This is a respectable Highland Malt offered at a fair price. It's not outstanding, but it is non chill-filtered and has no added color. I believe earlier Balblair releases were quite good. This particular bottling seems a bit immature but is worth sampling. It's not a widely available malt in the US, so if you encounter it and are curious, I'd suggest acquiring a bottle. It's straightforward and easy to drink, making it a suitable choice for newcomers looking to explore beyond traditional lowland or speyside malts.
Acceptable given the cost, just not particularly distinctive. Likely a fine choice for daily sipping.
Citrus and almonds, a trace of white blossoms. Mild and very easy to drink.
Robust, alcoholic, hints of leather and toffee. Traditional whiskey character.
Ideal whisky for warm weather.
