Avión Silver Tequila

An unusual Blanco. The nose offers a lot. There are scents of vanilla, tropical fruit, black pepper, and surprisingly, an earthy smell, almost like damp wood or moss. It's not bad, just unexpected for a blanco. While others mention citrus, I'm not convinced. I detected lemongrass due to an herbal quality in the smell that was almost lemon-orange. There's also an interesting minty aroma. So, it sounds like a great mix of fruity and earthy scents? Not quite. The alcohol sensation was dominant, making the other scents feel like afterthoughts rather than fully expressed. I wanted to appreciate the aroma, but it's too alcohol-forward for me. Despite the powerful nose, the actual taste is surprisingly muted and subtle. You do get a strong pineapple and lemongrass flavor (or at least a citrusy-bitter taste) that gives way to black pepper and banana. Following the initial fruitiness, there's a noticeable alcohol presence. The whole experience is brief, reasonably smooth, but rather uninspiring. The product feels rather unrefined. It would actually make a decent mixer, but at its price point, I can't recommend it.

An average nose, a simple palate dominated by peppery spice and salt, with a weak finish. The most appealing aspect is the pleasant aroma left in the glass after it's finished. The cost for a bottle of this, similar to another brand, is completely unreasonable. If you plan to spend $45 on a blanco, consider other options like El Tesoro, Fortaleza, G4, T1, Tromba, Siembra Valles, or Uno Por Favor. For about half that price, you could get Olmeca Altos, Corazon, El Mayor, Cimarron, Don Nacho, or Pueblo Viejo.

Allow to rest briefly. Appearance: Clear liquid with a faint yellow tint, viscous legs; Smell: Sharp citrus aromas, hints of pepper, sweet notes emerge later; Taste: Strong alcohol presence with expected tequila characteristics, sweetness develops towards the finish, distinctly peppery; Finish: Standard tequila, the sweetness persists with a lingering sensation.

The aroma is clean and fresh, reminiscent of agave right from the plant, with a noticeable alcohol presence. The palate delivers immediate spice and sweetness, followed by a bitter mint chocolate flavor that quickly gives way to dryness, oak, and saltiness. There's significant complexity, and I find it appealing. A great value for the price.

Tequilas from the cruise are finally being reviewed. I don't often drink Tequila, but a friend enjoys premium Tequila served neat. This one is satisfying. It's very smooth.
